Fargo Valley City, ND, November 4, 2026 —

The projection for North Dakota State University’s (NDSU) football team’s potential bowl game destination is undergoing continuous evolution, with multiple sports media outlets offering varying scenarios for opponents and locations.

Recent observations indicate strategic engagement from bowl representatives. A representative from the New Mexico Bowl was noted in attendance at an NDSU game, suggesting potential interest from that specific bowl. This observation comes as the Mountain West conference is actively strategizing its bowl assignments. A key objective for the conference appears to be the prevention of teams from being assigned to locations they have visited in previous post-season appearances.

Current projections from various outlets highlight several possibilities for the NDSU program. Among the frequently mentioned bowls are the Potato Bowl and the Hawaii Bowl. These projections also suggest a range of potential opponents for the Bison. Teams cited in these evolving forecasts include Toledo, Texas State, and Western Michigan. The dynamic nature of these projections reflects the competitive landscape and the ongoing assessments by sports analysts as the regular season concludes.

The specific details regarding which teams will be selected for which bowls, and their respective opponents, remain subject to the outcomes of remaining games and subsequent official selections by the conference and bowl committees. Information regarding the exact criteria or specific decisions made by the Mountain West conference in its strategizing process was not provided in the summary. Similarly, the identity of the specific NDSU game attended by the New Mexico Bowl representative was not detailed.
