Inquis Medical, a medical device company pioneering advanced treatments for venous thromboembolic disease, today announced the U.S. commercial launch of the latest AVENTUS™ Catheter, designed to provide physicians with 360° sweeping directional aspiration for clot removal within the vasculature. Austin Bourgeois, MD, performed the first-in-human pulmonary embolism (PE) procedure using the new catheter at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.

AVENTUS is the first and only thrombectomy system to offer physicians 360° directional aspiration, real-time TrueClot™ tissue sensing, and autologous blood return in a single platform. With the turn of a knob, physicians can rotate the catheter and direct the angled aspiration tip toward obstructive clot without dilator exchanges, accessory catheters, or device repositioning.

Inquis Medical received FDA clearance for the AVENTUS Thrombectomy System to treat PE in June 2025 and expanded the platform with 510(k) clearance for the newest AVENTUS Catheter in July 2026.

The catheter pairs with the recently launched AVENTUS Introducer Sheath, which provides controlled hemostasis across device sizes and facilitates effortless blood return. Together with integrated autologous blood return, the new catheter and sheath expand the AVENTUS Thrombectomy System into a comprehensive access-to-aspiration platform for venous thrombectomy.
